Written in the mid 1980s, this book recounts the courtroom drama of a graduate student who sustained significant injuries after jumping off a roof in a suicide attempt and her psychiatrist whom she had sued for malpractice. Saul Bellow describes it as "a detailed, dramatic narrative, written with skill and remarkable restraint." Currently out-of-print, it is available at the major on-line booksellers in the used and out-of-print sections.
